Welcome 2014

Wow! It is January 7, 2014 and it has been two and a half years since my last post.  Where has the time gone.

The bigger question that I post to myself is: "Am I that void of thoughts that it has taken me this long to do another blog entry?"   I am feeling much less deep these days, likely due to the successful integration of my three personas since my past blog entry.

It is a bitter cold day today (-40 C with windchill) with snow drifting all about.  It is on a day like today that I give pause to my simple fortunes in life such as: a home with adequate heat, a job I like, a happy marriage, three hilarious cats, and great family and friends.

I am looking forward to many cold nights this winter being inside my comfy warm house catching up on some my favourite television and Netflix shows as they return for a new season.  Some of these include: "The Following", "House of Cards", "Game of Thrones" and "Vikings" just to name a few.

Anyway, I hope to return with some thoughts much sooner than my last blog entry.

Regards.

Where Has The Time Gone?

Hi all,

Well it seems like it has been over a year since the trio of Steven, Steve and Stevo submitted their first post. It took so long because they could not agree on anything to blog about.

At this point, the only people who read the initial blog were the three of us.

We seldom read novels, but today we feel compelled for some reason to start one and make discussing it the them of this blog.

We are seriously considering re-reading the book, "The Sparrow" by Mary Doria Russell which recounts a Jesuit priest Father Emilio Sandoz' search to make meaning out of the horrendous experiences he had, resulting from a mission in space to make contact with another life form, and subsequently being the only survivor of the mission.

Why are we re-reading it? We are doing so for a couple reasons. Firstly, it was one of the best novels we have read in our life despite the fact that we do not generally like sci-fi books. Secondly, it has been a few years since we have read it, thus we don't remember all the details. Thirdly, we want to read the sequel "Children of God", which will be a difficult task if we can't remember the details of "The Sparrow". Finally, this was a book that all three of my personae enjoyed.

The Sparrow receives high ranks by the three of us, and is second only to "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving.

Ciao for now

The Stevo Steve and Steven Thought Space

Hi all!

Some of you that know me, may be aware that I am the sum of all three of my personae thought processes. Stevo is the ID, Steve is the Superego, and Steven is the Ego.

Whether or not we admire Sigmund Freud, we appear to be heavily influenced by him. The purpose of this blog is not to preach about Freudian approaches, rather it is just a safe forum my three guys to release themselves.

Stevo, Steve and Steven rarely agree with each other. As you follow this occasional blog, any one of them may be commenting on any number of ideas, thoughts or current events.

It will be up to decide which persona is expressing himself........provided that you even care.

One of their favourite quotes is by Martin Luther King Jr., "An Eye for An Eye Leaves Everyone Blind.

Ciao for now!
